THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
Often one of the first fruits a person will reach for when it becomes hot and uncomfortable in the summer months, the watermelon, full of the vital liquid that we all need to survive, speaks to a refreshing feeling that life always finds a way to hand people in their darkest of hours. The Watermelon painting features a whole watermelon carved in half to form the shape of a heart and is surrounded by slices of itself, suggesting that the artist has plenty of love to be freely given out by way of little pieces of themselves.
