Apples and pears are two fruits that hold a lot of symbolism regarding Christianity. The Apples and Pears painting creates a nice contrast between two of the main principles of this religion: sin and perfect love. The apples here are representative of the original sin that everyone is said to possess upon birth with their hopeful, sunshiny yellow color. The pears symbolize the embodiment of God's love, the love that can guide sinners out of their ways and back to perfect harmony with the Creator. Painted with similar brushstrokes, this painting represents the way that these two principles go hand in hand with one another.

Born in the year 1990, Ivan Balyasnikov is a Ukranian artist that uses both the skill and technique he was taught in school in harmony with the ones he picked up and developed on his own as he grew up. He went to an art school that he graduated from in the year 2004. He also attended the Crimean Art College by Smokish in the year 2008, and using that knowledge plus what was learned from famous artist Boris Zavalnuk, Ivan Balyasnikov was able to create his own style and begin creating pieces that are unique to only him.
