Wine is seen as a luxurious drink, one that inherently possesses an air of nobility, privilege and regality. The wine in the Still-Life with a Bottle of Wine painting is filled generously, more than halfway full, symbolizing an abundance of life's decadence. Beside the glass of wine is a full bottle of the red liquid, representing the idea that the indulger has more riches than they need. There is bread located at the bottom of the painting to say that those in possession of these items are satiated in every way, while the purple cloth draping over the back of the painting speaks to the classic symbol of royalty and elegance.

Born in the year 1990, Ivan Balyasnikov is a Ukranian artist that uses both the skill and technique he was taught in school in harmony with the ones he picked up and developed on his own as he grew up. He went to an art school that he graduated from in the year 2004. He also attended the Crimean Art College by Smokish in the year 2008, and using that knowledge plus what was learned from famous artist Boris Zavalnuk, Ivan Balyasnikov was able to create his own style and begin creating pieces that are unique to only him.
