THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
In The Apple Sindrom 03 Painting, the figure of a woman standing naked is captured. She is cast in a bluish gray color that is tinted with black hues. In one hand, she holds a bright green apple. On the same side of her body in which she is holding the apple, the leg that the apple sits near has all but disappeared. This symbolic imagery seems to reference the Christian biblical story of Adam and Eve and the apple of temptation, which has been enhanced by the play on words featured in the title of the painting itself.
