THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
With roots in Celtic culture, birch trees are often symbolic of life, hope, regeneration, new dawns and of new beginnings. The Birches Painting shown here seems to symbolize that with the way the birch trees are surrounded by the green of new life and the colors of the trees are blended in effortlessly throughout it. This painting features earthy brown colors toward the bottom which lend their way to the green surrounding the trees. The trees themselves are made up of white, orange, black and pink colors, all blended together in short, carefree brushstrokes to create the larger picture.
