THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
Vibrant green grass, trees and foliage make up the peaceful country scene in the Old Road Painting. This painting depicts a number of different natural features, such as a cliff with a brown, exposed edge, a mountain range in the background cast in various shades of distant blues, trees which are both alive and dead and a winding dirt path reminiscent of a classic country scene. Upon this road, a man directing the motion of his animals makes their journey down the sloping hills. A house can be seen tucked away behind a hill in the distance.
