Zangu is an original, one-of-a-kind landscape painting signed by artist Gevorg Avagyan. This piece of art was created in 1971 and the painter used oil on canvas. It measures 20" x 24" inch (50 x 60 cm) and is available for sale online for 450 USD.

A small city scene can be seen in the background of the Zangu Painting, accented by colorful row houses and other buildings in red, blue and yellow. From this cityscape come several roads that intersect with one another at different angles, leading down from a small cliff that upholds this city. The path leads down to a more rural area that is covered mostly in green grass. In the foreground of the painting are two trees that tower high over top of a small riverbed. Surrounding the river are small, green bushes and other foliage that contrast against the city.

Born in the year 1922 in a small town in Armenia, Gevorg Avagyan is a painter that represents some of the last remaining Old World Armenian artists that still cling to the classic style that was brought forth from there. Gevorg Avagyan studied at the Armenian Fine Arts College, followed by  the Armenian Fine Arts Academy. He has worked with other talented artists in Armenia and was known as a master of creating not only portraiture, but of beautiful landscapes as well. Gevorg Avagyan still paints to this day and is still producing classic Armenian-style pieces.
