Birdholder is an original, one-of-a-kind figurative painting signed by artist Rusudan Khizanishvili. This piece of art was created in 2015 and the painter used acrylic on cardboard. It measures 14" x 14" inch (35 x 35 cm) and is available for sale online for 550 USD.

“Birdholder” is yet another emotional, poignant, and almost perturbing piece by artist Rusudan Khizanishvili, who uses bold basic colors on a monochrome, shadowed setting to paint a deep sentiment, rather than a scene. The pitch black crows, usually an omen of something unwanted, in this painting don’t seem to be making their typical announcements of bad things to come. Somehow, in the arms and vicinity of the woman holding them, they seem to be at ease and peacefully observing their surroundings. This piece is the perfect addition to similarly designed geometric, monochrome rooms that want for a little color and life.

Born to the country of Russia in the year 1979, Rusudan Khizanishvili is a contemporary artist who lives and works in the country of Georgia. She takes her influence from a number of artists that came before her, her work a reflection of the history of art while also putting her own spin on their styles. She primarily uses oil in her paintings to create a unique texture on each one. The results are paintings that verge on nightmarish with their interesting takes of the human form and of places that appear as if they could only be real in the dream world.
