THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
The artist presents us with a small part of a busy, old Tbilisi street, with only a row of buildings and parked cars out front. A huge balcony is noticeable at the central point of the painting. Nothing is too detailed, although it is painted with the utmost care. Looking into the distance, the colors begin to fade and almost merge into one. The colorful sky creates the perfect contrast to deep green and brown buildings and black windows. Not a single living creature present in the painting has the viewer thinking it’s probably an early morning and everyone is still asleep. The true joy of art derives from the single artist’s view of an old street at the beginning of the day.
