A sunset stroll in a small town in early Autumn and a church at the end of the road. This simple image is not unusual to see in a painting, yet every one of them seems to have its own story to tell. A road is symbolic of many thing - life, choices, decisions, destinies, and the mystery of what waits for us around the corner. An open road is an invitation to an adventure. A closed road is a lack of choices, a cage, and ending. This uphill road, with a church just a few steps away, seems to speak of challenges, encouragement, and the faith to overcome that small uphill stride to a place of comfort. “La Iglesia Fuertes” makes the viewer want to cover those few steps to see what awaits in the church and perhaps even farther up the hill.

Born in Lima, Peru, Edmundo Pita is a self-taught artist who captures the way he sees life in a colorful way. He uses an impressionist style of art that brings together the unique images of life, both in the study of human beings and in the study of the natural world around him as well. There is no single defining color that runs throughout all of the different paintings; instead, Edmundo Pita seems to believe that in order to create art that reflects the world around him, he must use all of the colors under the sun to do so. Each of these paintings certainly does reflect the colors of the world without any sort of rhyme or reason.
