THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
The Village painting aims to show what happens when human beings opt to live among one another in close quarters, showcasing ideas through its use of colour such as the way the towering red rooftops of these homes can symbolize the aggression or sense of control one person might need when in close quarters, or the yellow rooftops that speak to the happiness that comes with being together. Each of the houses is in close quarters to the next one, so much so that the lines between the homes are nearly blurred and the colours all seem to wash into one another.
