THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
In The Village painting, small houses rise up along the green hillside pictured in the background in varying colours such as red, white, brown and orange. Each of these houses are in exceptionally close quarters to one another, seemingly with no space between them and sometimes overlapping. This piece takes a close look at the natural desire for humankind to want to stick together at all costs, even doing so when there is abundant room for people to scatter around and to build a unique life all their own in their own little corner of the world.
