Born in the year 1987, Giorgi Kovziashvili studied painting in the I. Nikoladze College of Art from the years 2002 until 2006. From 2007 until 2013, Giorgi Kovziashvili earned his master’s degree from the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Giorgi Kovziashvili participated in many exhibitions from the years 2005 until 2013. He used his time in school to create his own unique style, one that is easily distinguished and recognizable among other artists.
Giorgi Kovziashvili seems to enjoy painting one of two things: still life works and landscapes alike. His pieces all have a bit of a dreamy quality to them, one that seems to look at these two things from a nostalgic standpoint. His cityscapes are usually modeled after where he grew up in Tbilisi. They consist of imagery taken from Tbilisi side streets and alleyways. These streets are also lit up at night, as are some of his other cityscape pieces. When it comes to his landscapes, he puts a lot of focus on the light sources in his images.
Giorgi Kovziashvili's still life pieces largely consist of standard still life subjects such as fruits and bottles, but sometimes other inanimate objects are featured, including blue jeans, potted flowers and the like. Common colors that are used in all of his paintings include green, gray, orange, red, blue and yellow. No one color can be considered an average color in his works, not even in individual pieces.
